Reflection: 1 Kings 10: 1-10
WHEN GOD IS WITH US
God has made his children light of the world and as such, a child of God can never be hidden. People (both familiar and unfamiliar) will come from far and near to test, confirm and to tap into such light. The light of God in God’s children is a reflection of God’s glory on earth. This is exactly the case between the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon.
God was with Solomon and He blessed him with unimaginable wisdom and gifts from above. This wisdom however made a way for him; it earned him wealth, fame and respect. The Queen of Sheba came to test Solomon’s wisdom and because God was with Solomon, she experienced even more than she expected.
Brethren, the same applies to us as children of God. We must always place ourselves in a position that God can always stay with us by realizing that God is the giver of all good things and seeking His righteousness daily. The people of the world will always want to test and confirm God’s blessings and gift over us but when God is with us; even our gifts will make way for us.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me wisdom to position myself in such a manner that you can stay with me always. Amen.
KNOW YOUR FAITH: YOUCAT 353 Why do we worship God?
We worship God because he exists and because reverence and worship are the appropriate response to his revelation and his presence. “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve” (Mt 4:10)
Worshipping God, however, is also beneficial to men, for it frees them from servitude to the powers of this world. When God is no longer worshipped and when he is no longer thought to be Lord over life and death, others assume that position and put human dignity at risk.
HIDE A TREASURE: “You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid” Matthew 5:14 GNB
