BE OPEN TO GOD’S PRECEPTS

Happy Valentine’s day, beloved in Christ! In our world of technology, a person who purchases the latest phone is always proud of it and is careful to read its manual so as to use and operate the phone maximally. Notice that our parents who have access to these high-tech gadgets do not often use the extra features maximally and are satisfied with simply making and receiving calls. Do we care to find out what God wants especially in using our talents in glorify him?

Beloved, the death and resurrection of Christ which proffered grace into our lives should not dampen our zeal to know and follow God’s precepts. Many Christians only focus their minds on what God has done for them but have never sat down to dialogue with God on what He demands of them. The grace of God lavished on us should be made active by our constant walk with God and our obedience to his commands.

Dear friends, God’s word gives us joy and peace especially in challenging seasons of life (Ps 119:92). Let us allow God to subdue our foes by seeking to know his precepts and obeying them always. This was the promise made to us in God’s word in our reading today. (Ps 81:13-14). May our plans be ordered by God. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me listening ears to your precepts that I may walk victoriously. Help me to find joy and satisfaction in your word. Amen.

KNOW YOUR FAITH: YOUCAT 351 – Aren’t the Ten Commandments outmoded?

No, the Ten Commandments are by no means the product of a particular time. They express man’s fundamental obligations toward God and neighbor, which are always and everywhere valid.

The Ten Commandments are commandments of reason just as they are also part of the binding REVELATION of God. They are so fundamentally binding that no one can be dispensed from keeping these commandments.

HIDE A TREASURE: “How I wish my people would listen to me, how I wish they would obey me! I would quickly defeat their enemies and conquer all their foes”. Ps 81:13-14 GNB
