Wednesday 16^th April – Wednesday of Holy Week

Reflection: Matthew 26: 14-25

SURELY, NOT I RABBI?

Blessed is the man against whom the Lord imputes no guilt. For, where it not for the grace and mercy of God, where would we have been? Lord Jesus, thank you for your merciful love.  For from my heart of hearts, I know I can never ask that same question the holy Apostles asked you; because, often than not, I am guilty of betraying you.

Today, we celebrate the God who does not condemn, but the God who redeems. The God who strengthens us in the face of trials, and who will never leave sinners without drawing them to repentance (except those who choose to be lost).

Today, try to look into the heart of Jesus, His agony and anguish at knowing that one of His very own; one with whom He had eaten, drunk, walked, rubbed minds with and in fact lived the most eventful part of His earthly life with was going to betray Him to death. Yet, you and I are little Judas of some sort when we betray in different ways, even in very little things. Jesus, have mercy on me!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, amidst the trials and temptation, the falls and the risings, may my faith and hope in your saving power never fail me. Amen.
