LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

Friday 16th May – Friday of the 4th week of Eastertide

Reflection: John 14: 1-6

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

Life they say is not a bed of roses, and man does not have full control over all that happens to him. Hence, events occur that sometimes unsettle us. When this happens, what should our response be?

As Christians, our response should stem from faith in the abiding promises of our loving God (Isaiah 43:2). With Him, no situation is hopeless (Jeremiah 32:27, Mark 10:27), and He works in ways that transcend our human knowledge (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Dear friend, what is it troubling your heart? Have you being praying over a particular issue and the answer seems not to be forthcoming. Please do not allow the situation to rob you of your joy, do not give up.  Persevere in faith and you will see the lord help you out. God‘s delays are not His denial; so when fear and worry assail you, tighten your hold on faith!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are my peace and joy, please show me your loving kindness in all life’s situations. Amen.

KNOW YOUR FAITH: CCC 2753 – In the battle of prayer, we must confront enormous conceptions of prayer, various currents of thoughts, and our own experience of failure. We must respond with humility, trust and perseverance to these temptations which cast doubt on the usefulness or even the possibility of prayer.

HIDE A TREASURE: “Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me!”                Psalm 31: 2b RSV- CE

Readings for today: Acts 13: 26-33, Psalm 2: 6-11, John 14: 1-6
