Thursday 5th June – Memorial of St Boniface, Bishop & Martyr
Reflection: Acts 22:30; 23:6-11
MASTER OF SITUATIONS
Dear friends, as children of God, the task of evangelization lies in our hands. It is our responsibility to help others know about Christ through our words and example. As we carry on this task, we must come to the realization that it is God who works in us to draw souls to himself. Reliance on human connection, skills and efforts without being submissive to the leading of the Holy Spirit would slow down our work and render it ineffective.
Today reading displays God’s perfect wisdom in addressing and mastering a situation which could have led to Paul’s execution. God gave Paul the wisdom to say the right words that would lead to no opposition from his accusers. Beloved, at the crossroads of life, do we allow the Holy Spirit in us to lead us? Do we grow weak and weary when difficult situations come our way or do we trust in God’s Spirit within us?
Our God is a master of situations and circumstances. Let us be courageous and depend solely on his grace and insight to overcome every challenge of life. The scripture says “wisdom is the principal thing and in everything, get insight” (Proverbs 4:7). Let us cling to Him by our quest for holiness and He would bring to our awareness, the right words at the right time for every situation and challenge of life.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, grant me an understanding of every situation of my life’s journey. Give me the right words to say at the right time. Amen.
