Friday 13th November – Friday of week 32 of the year
Reflection: Wisdom 13:1-9
DISCOVERING TRUE WISDOM
Have you ever imagined how your internal organs work? Have you ever imagined the greatness of the mind that keeps nature in perfect order? As you appreciate the creative power of the human mind, does it ever lead you to contemplate the power of the Creator himself? If we truly take time to reflect on all this, we cannot but agree with the first reading that it is great foolishness to appreciate and adore the creation of God more than God himself?
It is agreed that the beauty of creation is unimaginable yet quite alarming that many young people today, in a bid to seeking power, wealth and knowledge have given out their souls to small gods; gods like fellow human beings who are considered powerful and diabolical, non-living idols up to the extent of the worship of nature. They have now accepted to live in fear and terror rather than living as free-born just as God created them.
Beloved, seeking the truth and wisdom outside God is in vain. God is all in all. He that made the beautiful things of the world can make your life beautiful. Let the wonders and beauty of creation you encounter each day deepen your desire to seek God and live in obedience to Him.
PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to always look up to at all times and to always know that you the living God. Amen.
KNOW YOUR FAITH: CCC 46 – When He listens to the message of creation and to the voice of conscience, man can arrive at certainty about the existence of God, the cause and the end of everything.
HIDE A TREASURE: Anyone who does not know God is simply foolish. Such people look at the good things around them and still fail to see the living God…” Wisdom 13:1 GNB
